Photographs by Tonia

My name is Tonia I am a true PNW girl. I’m an outdoor enthusiast,  I have one dog,  I adore my family, want to travel the world, I have a bucket list a mile long. I am in love with story telling and the uniqueness in people and their relationships. Lets include an adventure even better! I want to capture candid real moments of who you are!  I want to capture you and your stories.  I strive to deliver photographs that are creative, beautiful and real. I would love to work with you and capture your memories.  If you like what you see let’s chat.  I enjoy traveling all around the PNW for photo shoots, don't hesitate to ask.  Currently I live out in the Tacoma area with a studio on South Hill in Puyallup, WA. The way I approach photography is to naturally capture the moment.  I  like for us to have fun during the shoot and make sure you are comfortable. I will do a mix of candid moments and naturally posed photos.

As a married couple ourselves, Jeff and I work together as a perfectly in sync team on your wedding day to ensure we capture as many memories as possible! We love capturing not only those traditional must have portraits, but also those “imperfect” yet perfect moments in between. The photos from your wedding day are what really draw you back to the emotions of your love story, and we find no greater joy then when we get to capture those moments. I remember as a little girl looking at my parents and grandparents wedding photos and albums yearly so it seriously brings us so much joy to be able to create those same emotions for our own couples today!

We are both down to earth, kind, outgoing and romantics at heart and our idea of an adventure looks more like a resort with a soaker tub in a gorgeous location more then a tent in the middle of the PNW, and couples who book us for their wedding usually fall in those categories too! Marriage is a big deal to us, as while your wedding is one day, your marriage is forever! So capturing our J&RCouples wedding days are the best thing EVER! To us there is nothing better than seeing two people committing to spending the rest their lives together on one of the best adventures in life.

Pacific Northwest native Sara Welch has spent nearly a decade capturing life’s most important moments. With a dedication to portraying honest emotions in an organic setting, she has been fortunate enough to build relationships with countless clients, and to be present for their most intimate, inspiring, and exciting life events.

Residing in the gorgeous pastoral setting near the San Juan Islands in Washington State, when Sara isn’t on a shoot, traveling domestically and internationally,  she spends her time with her family (the most amazing husband and son a gal could ask for)  enjoying documentaries, podcasts, good music, coffee and tea, road trips and garage sales, and keeping cozy on a rainy day by the wood stove.

Armed with a few Canon Mark III's, a Leica, some expired film, and a variety of lenses, Sara has earned a place among the pacific northwest's respected photographers.

This might sound strange, but I always tell my clients not to hire me because they like my work. Instead, I tell them to hire me because they enjoy my company. Think of it this way—I am going to be your shadow all day long on the biggest day of your life so far, your wedding day. It’s so important for us to have a great working relationship so I can capture the truly special, genuine moments that occur throughout the day. If we get along well and connect with each other, I can promise you that I will produce work that you will love!

Your wedding day is that rare occasion where all your friends and family meet and gather together. The cake gets eaten, the flowers die, and all you have left are your photos. Your wedding experience is so much more than just booking someone to show up and take pictures. It's your memories to be relived through photographs. It's capturing those REAL unscripted moments that are unique to your celebration, all the beautiful details you poured your heart into, the tears in your partner's eyes when you promise each other forever and exchange vows, and of course all the frame worthy portraits that will be cherished for years to come. It's important that we vibe together because we will be spending more time together before and during the wedding than any other vendor. I want you to feel comfortable, I want to make you laugh, and I want to inspire you. If you resonate with my work and value my craft and what I can offer you we may be a great fit.
